Part 2: i cannot download the latest quicktime 7 plugin for firefox on windows 7. this is a scenario where you already have quicktime installed on your computer and the browser still prompts you to update it and by clicking on the ‘update’ link nothing happens (you get the message saying ‘no file download has taken place’).. Did not have one so had to go into my time capsule back to were i had a quicktime plugin in my library and add it to my current library. then reboot system and that put the plugin for quicktime back in the add-on manager for firefox and then could run quicktime videos. one of the cleaning programs i run must of removed it from my library.. Whenever i try to access certain sites in firefox, a window pops up saying that i need to install quicktime as a plugin. usually, firefox will find and download plugins automatically. however, for some reason i have to install it manually, but have no idea of how to do so.. For some reason, quicktime plugin is not listed in the plugins list but is still available to firefox when clicked to activate. don't really know why this is. if you are not seeing it appear when you search for it in the add-ons manager, you may not have the plugin installed and available in the finder (library/internet plugins folder)..
